In order to discuss the apprehensions of our members regarding recent Court case on seniority, a Get-Together has been planned on Tuesday 3rd June, 2014 at 1700 hrs at the PALPA Auditorium.
The Executive Committee is of the considered opinion that as it is a subjudice matter, it will be inappropriate to discuss the modalities of the issue. Furthermore, the Executive Committee also felt that the matter does not fall within the purview of clause 5.1.5 of PALPA Constitution, therefore a Special General Meeting of the Association cannot be convened.
Reproduced below is the proposed agenda for the Special General Body Meeting as submitted by the concerned members for your ready reference.
1. To ensure that the working agreement is not held hostage to the avarice and questionable motives of the litigants who have periled its sanctity by subjecting it to scrutiny in the court of law that is tantamount to challenging the writ of PALPA.
2. To bind the PALPA Executive Committee to ensure that such actions of self negating unilaterism against the association are not allowed to perpetuate consequence free, and that all its members are bound by the scope of the Working Agreement for that time.
3. To ensure financial assistance and quittance for those members who are striving to defend the working agreement in favour of the status quo on seniority as vetted by PALPA.
