ALL PALPA MEMBERS:
السلام عليكم
The Executive Committee has taken a very serious view of the gross violations of PALPA-PIAC Working Agreement 2011-2013, by the Directorate of Flight Operations.
A few glaring examples are being highlighted for the information of the membership.
- We were assured in writing that all outstanding foreign allowances will be disbursed as per a schedule, which was later amended and again we were given an assurance that by the 20th of every month, 02 months allowance will be disbursed till all the back log is cleared. Till today allowances have been paid up-till October 2014, thereby taking the outstanding arrears up-to 06 months.
The salary for the month of May 2015 has still not been disbursed resulting in hardship being faced by the members. Again it was assured to us by the management that monthly salaries will be deposited in the accounts on time. - Flight Operations Department, illegally promoted 03 First Officers from B-747 to A-310. For the last two months, the Executive Committee has been requesting the Director Flight Operations to form a Committee as per PALPA-PIAC Working Agreement 2011-2013, but unfortunately our requests have been falling on deaf ears. PALPA’s stance on the issue is further justified by a letter sent by the DFO requesting our consent to extend contract of a B-747 First Officer.
- The Flight Operations Department has requested our consent for the issuance of contract only to B-777 pilots, to work beyond the age of 60 years. The Executive Committee has refused to accommodate this request and as a result the management has unilaterally changed the criteria of promotion of pilots. Now the management wants to “trade off” issuance of contract with promoting pilots to their next equipment.
Ironically, the suggestion to extend the contract only to B-777 pilots comes from a person who himself is not only a B-777 captain but also holding the office of Director Flight Operations while on LPR himself, which is in violation of Corporation Rule No. 21.06.03d (vi & viii) dated 31st March 2014.
These are just a few of the glaring examples of the high handedness of the current Flight Operations Department. The Executive Committee has bended backwards to accommodate the management but our cooperation is being taken for granted by the directorate.
With the current attitude of the directorate, the Executive Committee is compelled to withdraw all extra support that is being extended.
We will keep you updated of further course of action.
With Best Regards,
Capt. Amir Hashmi
