Dear Members,
ALHAMDULILLAH, by the grace of Almighty Allah (swt), it gives me immense pleasure to apprise you on the outcome of some outstanding issues that were being faced by our Membership, which have been part of our relentless struggle, resulting in:
• Placing disputed deduction of pilot salaries on hold
• Annulment of ONCRs/re-imbursement of penalties
• Restoration of domestic hotels back to normal (Pearl Continental)
• Formulation of Uniform Committee with representation of PALPA
PALPA Executive Committee would like to express our deepest appreciation in honoring the commitment made by Federal Secretary Aviation/Chairman PIACL Mr. Saqib Aziz in which he assured the PALPA Team that all issues will be addressed on priority basis, which we see happening now.
Furthermore, we commend the vision shown by the newly elected Federal Government of Pakistan to exclude PIACL from privatization and giving PIACL a genuine chance by selecting dynamic leadership at the higher echelon comprising of Secretary Aviation/Chairman PIACL and President & CEO PIACL.
PALPA Executive Committee recently met with the new CEO & President PIACL. He was briefed on the prevailing situation of our Membership and further requested for an audience in the form of a presentation in PALPA House followed by his address and a dinner with the Pilot Community. We are pleased to inform the membership that the President & CEO PIACL graciously accepted our invitation, the details of which will be communicated soon.
This will be a great opportunity for the entire membership to interact and share their ideas through which our Airline can benefit.
In the end, we would like to acknowledge the role of our membership for their patience, determination and entrusting us with their confidence which continues to fuel the Executive Committee to resolve all outstanding issues and we remain result-orientated. The correspondence of the past based upon our struggle indicates that we believe:
“There are two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. We try to be in the first group; there is much less competition”
With Best Regards,
Capt. Rizwan Gondal
